PARTNER INSTITUTIONS
École de technologie
supérieure (ÉTS)
A key university partner in the aerospace industry
The École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) provides a higher education infrastructure that allows it to meet the needs of and strengthen its ties with the aerospace industry. The Institut de conception et d'innovation en aérospatiale (aerospace design and innovation institute or (
ICIA) of the ÉTS provides undergraduate students with projects defined by several companies in the aerospace industry, in particular
Pratt & Whitney Canada,
Bombardier Aéronautique,
Bell Helicopter Textron,
EMS Technologies and
CMC Électronique. The Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Québec,
CRIAQ, is also among the institute’s many partners.
The work is carried out discretely to ensure the confidential nature of the various projects. Partners benefit from the research infrastructure provided by the ÉTS, as well as the expertise of its professors in their respective fields of engineering. More specifically, the ÉTS offers the following programs to meet the needs of the aerospace industry:
With its 5000 students, the ÉTS ranks fourth among 41 Canadian engineering schools and faculties. The school accounts for nearly 25% of all students enrolled in a bachelor of engineering program in Québec, placing it first among establishments offering this type of training. It ranks third among 35 engineering schools or faculties in Canada. The school, located in downtown Montréal, trains engineers in seven different fields and also offers 11 masters programs and a doctorate in engineering.
The school maintains close ties with the industry through its industrial chairs, applied research projects and cooperative education programs. It also offers graduate-level university programs.
